Venting...each time I write or edit a grant I want to throw my computer out the window! Why does word have to be such a pain when it comes to putting figures and figure legends in the text. Somehow that lock anchor command doesn't work for me and as a result my figure 5 ends up 2 pages after figure 7 and all of my spacing is screwed up. Any advice?

i agree why does inserting text boxes screw things up! You are better off then Marc, the guy has no clue how to insert a picture or references. I have to do all that for him.
